The Dobot Magician is utilized in classrooms throughout the world with the universal intention of teaching students the fundamentals of robotics and programming. Teachers worldwide choose the Dobot Magician to incorporate in their engineering courses to give their students an introduction to real-world industrial automation without breaking the budget. We’re happy to share a few of these classroom use cases with you in which we hope can inspire you to consider the Dobot Magician in your teachings!
Aarstad High School – Bergen, Norway
Aarstad High School in Bergen, Norway uses the Dobot Magician and Dobot Curriculum in their programming course. The classroom consists of students ages 16-20 and has 16 of the Dobot Magician robots. Incorporating the Dobot Curriculum into their teachings, the classes are offered 4 days of the week and are roughly 45 minutes each. With this schedule, the Dobot Curriculum will span one year to completion.
Busan Institute of Science and Technology – Busan, South Korea
Busan Institute of Science and Technology in Busan, South Korea incorporates the Dobot Magician and Dobot Curriculum in the Automation course that consists of students from ages 20-24. This class is offered 3 hours per week and teaches students the structure and language of robotics, utilizing 10 Dobot Magician robots.
“Students can better understand STEM education and how to instruct robotics through various interfaces and coding language offered through the Dobot Magician platform.” – Dept. of Electric Automation
Peru High School – Peru, New York
Peru High School in Peru, NY uses Dobot Magician products in their Technology & Engineering classes. The classroom is a hybrid instructional space and material processing lab with 16-24 students per class. Dobot products are used as supplemental experiences that are built into the Engineering, Manufacturing, and Robotics curriculums. The Dobot Magician gives students industry grade experiences that mimic what is used in technical fields at a scale that fits in the classroom (with both size and price).
Peru CSD has recently used Dobot products during distance learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Students were able to send codes into their teacher in Live online classroom settings, design and 3D print custom end effectors, and create an automated workcell all from their homes. Dobot allowed hands-on learning to continue to be hands-on even at a distance. Visit Leif Sorgule’s website for free resources about distance learning and technology education: www.sorgule.com
“Students are highly unlikely to pick a career path that is unfamiliar to them. An introduction to industrial robotics can spark an interest in the next generations workforce!”-Leif Sorgule
