Engineering Head at Copley High School in Ohio, Kirby Harder, continues to provide weekly insight into his educational Dobot training course. See how the Dobot Magicians combined with the Dobot Curriculum (available at Dobot.us) is implemented in the classroom with Kirby’s most recent update, below.
In the general class students are working their way thru the new curriculum, we are finishing up block activities. A new one that I came up with is having the students complete the same task with 2 different end-effectors (we did pick and place with both the cubes and dip tanks). The students compared each and created a list of strengths and weaknesses for each end-effector.
After school students are working hard to create an assembly line. So far we have created a:
• Domino Stamp / end-effector
– 3D printed Disk
– Pencil Erasers used as the stamp
• Raw Material Feeder
– VEX parts
– 3D printed Linear actuator
As always, the IP Tech (Dobot.us) team appreciates your feedback, Kirby, and we look forward to seeing what’s next with the Dobot Magician classroom updates!
